Hatha Yoga Level 1/Basic

This is a great class for all levels, especially beginners.  Students will learn basic yoga postures at a slow mindful pace with a focus on proper alignment of the body and breathing. Props such as blocks or straps may be used to assist in a posture or maximize a stretch.  Practice develops body awareness, strength, balance, flexibility and focus.

Hatha Yoga Level 2

This class builds on the basics learned in Level 1 and will teach more intermediate level poses with a
primary focus on alignment and structural integrity. This class is for students interested in exploring poses that require more strength, stamina and flexibility than Hatha Level 1. Students should understand basic alignment principles and have been practicing for at least 6 months.

Gentle Vinyasa Yoga

This class is like the Vinyasa class but moves at a slower pace with attention to stretching and learning proper alignment, while gently building strength.

Vinyasa I Yoga

The vinyasa yoga class focuses on both the poses and the transitions between them. The poses follow each other as pearls on a string, in a flow. The sequence is without pauses between the poses, which give a thorough work out and raises the temperature. The starting point is often a variation of the sun salutation, which is then developed further. There may be some light chanting and spiritual readings throughout, with a time for rest and reflection at the end.

Vinyasa II Power Yoga

The Vinyasa Power Yoga class focuses on developing core strength and is more strenuous and faster paced than the vinyasa class. Postures may be held a little longer and the class will include inversions and arm balances. It is recommended that the student has 1 year of yoga experience or teacher recommendation.

Mixed-Level Vinyasa Flow
A breathing practice of connected poses including seated and standing postures appropriate for everyone. A welcoming and accessible class where beginners are encouraged and the experienced are challenged.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a specific approach to yoga that works on a very deep level to awaken the connective tissue of your body. Studies have shown that it’s not just muscles that need conditioning as we age; connective tissue also needs a “work out” to avoid the hardening and stiffening that takes place in our bodies as we get older. The key to the Yin Yoga experience is 3 fold: take the shape of the pose, stay as still as you can while in the pose, and hold the pose for 4 to 5 minutes. These longer holds in stillness work the deep layers of connective tissue that hardens whenever we engage in vigorous physical activity. Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to our active Power Vinyasa Yoga practice as well as athletic disciplines such as running, skiing, bicycling and all team sports.

Ashtanga: Half Led Primary Series
This led class goes through all the standing poses, up to navasana (boat) in the seated postures, and includes finishing postures such as backbends, inversions and savasana (final relaxation).  All levels welcome!

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a supported, conscious body/mind relaxation practice. When supported with props, the body relaxes and opens, releasing tension and stored-up toxins that can cause illness. Restorative poses offer benefits to both the body and mind, for conditions ranging from insomnia to asthma to chronic pain to migraines to depression.

Intro to Meditation

This class is open to anyone interested in meditation and/or developing a personal meditation practice. This class will explore simple Pranayama and Meditation techniques to cultivate breath awareness and focus.  This 30 minute session will help you experience the benefits of a seated meditation practice including improved concentration, reduced stress and quieting the mind.
